About you
You know your way around a wide format printer and you're just as comfortable getting hands-on with vinyl. You’ll have a good eye for detail, take pride in the finish of your work and be comfortable working through jobs independently without needing someone looking over your shoulder all day. This isn't purely a print operator role either. You'll be involved across digital print and vinyl application, so we're looking for someone who enjoys that mix and likes being part of the actual production process.
Your experience
You'll ideally come from a signage, large format print or graphics background and already have solid experience applying vinyl to different substrates. You'll be comfortable operating digital print equipment, preparing files for production and keeping an eye on quality throughout the job. Experience with equipment such as Canon Arizona, Canon Colorado, HP Latex or Mimaki would obviously be useful, but we're more interested in someone who understands the process and can get up to speed quickly. You'll also be comfortable working with artwork and RIP software, with Adobe Illustrator and Onyx Thrive particularly relevant.
What you’ll be doing
You'll be working across the digital print and vinyl side of the production department, operating the printers, preparing and producing graphics and applying vinyl across a variety of signage projects. You'll keep an eye on the workload coming through the department, making sure jobs are produced correctly and ready when they need to be. There'll also be the usual machine maintenance, quality checks and general housekeeping that comes with running a tidy and well-organised print department.
About the business
This is an established signage manufacturer with everything under one roof in Ashford. They produce a really broad mix of signage, from large format digital print and vinyl graphics through to fabricated letters, illuminated signage, totems and bespoke sign systems. They're continuing to grow the team and have invested heavily in being able to manufacture projects in-house rather than simply outsourcing the interesting bits. It's a good opportunity for somebody who enjoys production, likes variety and wants to work somewhere where signage is actually manufactured properly from start to finish.
Next steps
If you're already working within signage, large format print or graphics and fancy having a chat about it, give us a shout. No drawn-out process or hard sell. We can tell you a bit more about the business and you can decide whether it's worth exploring.
