Enjoy turning clever engineering designs into something that can actually be manufactured? We're working with a rapidly growing advanced manufacturing business developing innovative lightweight composite structures for the aerospace, defence and other high-performance engineering industries. They're looking for an experienced Composites Manufacturing Engineer who understands the practical realities of manufacturing complex composite components and enjoys finding smarter, more efficient ways of doing things. This isn't a role where you'll simply maintain existing processes. You'll have the opportunity to influence how products are manufactured, develop production methods and help introduce advanced composite technologies into a growing manufacturing operation. What you'll be doing: * Developing and improving manufacturing processes for advanced composite components and structures. * Creating manufacturing routings, bills of materials, process documentation and detailed work instructions. * Supporting new product introduction and taking projects from engineering development into production. * Working closely with Design, Production and Quality to ensure components can be manufactured efficiently and consistently. * Developing tooling requirements, manufacturing methods and cure processes. * Supporting process FMEAs, quality planning and continuous improvement activities. * Identifying opportunities to improve manufacturing efficiency, reduce waste and improve product quality. * Providing technical support to production teams and resolving manufacturing challenges. What we're looking for: * Previous experience in composites manufacturing engineering or process engineering. * Strong understanding of composite materials and manufacturing processes, including prepreg lay-up, curing and associated tooling. * Experience developing manufacturing documentation, routings, BOMs and work instructions. * Good knowledge of aerospace or similarly demanding manufacturing quality standards. * Understanding of lean manufacturing, process improvement and problem-solving techniques. * Ability to work effectively with engineering, quality and manufacturing teams. * Eligibility to successfully complete BPSS screening as a minimum and obtain SC clearance where required. Experience with SolidWorks, AS9100, automated composite manufacturing processes or Six Sigma would be particularly useful. A background in aerospace, defence, motorsport or advanced composite manufacturing would be ideal. What's on offer? * Salary of £45,000 to £60,000 depending on experience. * Employee share options. * Private medical insurance. * Company pension scheme. * Early finish on Fridays. * Opportunity to work with innovative composite manufacturing technologies. * Genuine scope to influence manufacturing processes and support the growth of an ambitious engineering business. The bottom line? If you're a Composites Manufacturing Engineer who enjoys solving real manufacturing problems, improving processes and seeing engineering ideas turn into finished products, this is worth a conversation.
