Composite Fitter Location: Gloucester, Gloucestershire Job Type: Contract Rate: £27–£30 per hour Composite components don't assemble themselves. And getting them right takes more than a steady hand. We're recruiting for a growing advanced composites manufacturer producing lightweight structures for aerospace, defence and other demanding engineering applications. They're looking for experienced Composite Fitters who understand precision assembly, structural bonding and the importance of getting things right first time. What you'll be doing: * Fitting and assembling precision composite components and structures. * Structural adhesive bonding, including surface preparation, application and curing. * Minor fettling and finishing of composite parts. * Working from engineering drawings and detailed manufacturing instructions. * Using hand tools, precision measuring equipment, jigs and fixtures. * Inspecting completed work and maintaining accurate production documentation. * Following quality, safety and manufacturing procedures. What we're looking for: * Previous experience in mechanical fitting, composite fitting or precision assembly. * Confidence working from engineering drawings and technical instructions. * Practical experience using hand tools and precision measuring equipment. * Strong attention to detail and an understanding of manufacturing quality requirements. * Ability to work independently and as part of a manufacturing team. Ideally, you'll have at least three years' fitting experience within aerospace, motorsport, automotive or another precision engineering environment. Experience with composite materials, structural adhesive bonding and composite assembly would be particularly useful.
