Due to continued growth, a leading OEM of CNC machine tools is looking to expand its established team with the addition of a Service Engineer.

Renowned worldwide for exceptional quality and reliability, their CNC machines are recognised across multiple industries. Backed by outstanding employee retention, this role offers engineers structured long-term growth opportunities and ongoing support for their personal development. The UK operation includes a strong network of over 16 field-based Service Engineers, supported by two office-based technical support specialists.

The package includes a negotiable salary of £45 - £50K DOE, plus an OTE of £60K+ with door to door and overtime after 37hrs, company vehicle with choice of van or hybrid car, mobile phone & laptop, 33 days holiday, yearly bonuses, private pension, medical cover, and annual performance reviews.

Responsibilities for the service engineer include:

  • Breakdown repairs and maintenance of CNC Machines including multi axis Mills and Lathes
  • Routine service and inspections, as well as fault finding using software
  • Carrying out mechanical and electrical repairs and part replacement
  • Installation and commissioning of machinery on site
  • Ordering of parts from the office, replacing and retrofitting
  • Providing end user training and customer support both remotely and on site
  • Travel from home to site covering a region of north west, but be prepared to travel nationally when installation & commissioning projects are required

Lots of product training provided, including trips overseas to the manufacturing facilities where the machines are built, along with job shadowing with senior engineers in the team.

Engineers typically travel a circa radius of 100 miles from where they live, to keep overnight stays to a minimum, allowing engineers to gain a much better work life balance in the process.

We would love to hear from you if you possess the following experience and skills:

  • Previous experience as a Service Engineer, Service Technician, Maintenance of CNC, Field Technician, CNC Engineer
  • Strong knowledge of CNC machine tools including lathes and mills
  • Confident both electrically and mechanically
  • Good knowledge of fault finding, diagnostics checking and equipment inspections
  • Clean driving license
  • UK Passport for overseas training and trips to Ireland on occasions
