We are working in partnership with a leading manufacturing organisation to recruit an experienced Process Engineer with a strong background in Welding. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically driven engineer to join a well-established engineering team supporting high-quality, precision manufacturing operations.
The Role
As a Process Engineer specialising in welding, you will play a key role in developing, optimising, and supporting welding processes across production. You will work closely with manufacturing, quality, and design teams to ensure robust, repeatable processes that meet both customer and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve welding processes across manufacturing operations.
- Define welding parameters, process documentation, and standard operating procedures.
- Lead welding process qualification and validation activities.
- Troubleshoot welding defects and process issues using structured root cause analysis.
- Support new product introduction (NPI), including process trials and production ramp-up.
- Ensure compliance with relevant welding and quality standards (e.g. ISO, ASME, AWS).
- Work closely with production teams to provide technical support and process training.
Candidate Profile
- Qualified in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Materials Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in a Process Engineering role with a strong emphasis on welding.
- Hands-on knowledge of welding processes such as MIG, TIG, Resistance, Laser, or Robotic welding.
- Strong understanding of welding metallurgy, defect mechanisms, and quality standards.
- Confident communicator with the ability to work cross-functionally in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in regulated or high-quality manufacturing sectors would be advantageous.
