Location:
Gloucester Salary:
£50,000 to £52,000 per annum Job Type:
Permanent If your idea of production planning is updating a spreadsheet and hoping everything goes to plan, this probably isn't the job for you. We're working with a rapidly growing advanced manufacturing business that's developing some seriously impressive technology for the aerospace, defence and automotive industries. They're looking for an experienced Production Planner who understands what it takes to keep a manufacturing operation running smoothly, particularly when priorities change, materials are delayed and everyone wants their order yesterday. This isn't just about producing schedules. It's about taking ownership of the planning process across two manufacturing facilities, making better use of the ERP system and ensuring production has what it needs, when it needs it. What you'll be doing: Taking ownership of the master production schedule across two manufacturing sites.
Planning production around materials, labour, machinery and capacity.
Raising works orders and managing daily and weekly production schedules.
Improving the accuracy of ERP and MRP data, including BOMs, routings and lead times.
Managing material availability, inventory accuracy and stock movements.
Coordinating with Engineering, Operations, Purchasing and Quality to keep production on track.
Identifying potential bottlenecks before they become expensive problems.
Supporting improvements to planning processes and systems.
What we're looking for: You'll have a solid background in production planning within a manufacturing environment and know your way around an ERP or MRP system. Experience with SYSPRO would be particularly useful, but it's not essential. What's more important is understanding how planning systems actually work and having the confidence to improve them. You'll need to understand manufacturing capacity, material requirements, BOMs, routings and the realities of balancing competing production priorities. A background in aerospace, automotive, defence or another technically demanding manufacturing environment would be ideal. You'll also need a full UK driving licence and be comfortable travelling between the Gloucester and another local facility. What's on offer? Salary circa £50,000 to £53,000 depending on experience.
Private healthcare.
Company pension scheme.
Employee share options.
Exposure to innovative manufacturing technologies and exciting aerospace and defence programmes.
The opportunity to make a genuine impact within an expanding business.
The bottom line? If you're a Production Planner who enjoys solving problems, improving processes and making manufacturing operations work better, this is worth a conversation. Apply today through M-Tec Consulting Group to find out more.
