We are currently working with a leading automotive tier 1 supplier with the recruitment of a Metrology Engineer. As Metrology Engineer, you provide measurement analysis using a CMM for all PSW submissions and internal PPAPs, across manufactured parts and bought in parts.

The Metrology Engineer will be responsible for:

  • CMM Programming and Operating using PCDMIS (2019 onwards)
  • Planning and carrying out annual internal and external re-qualification CMM measurements to support product testing plan
  • Carry out measurement to support the Company’s Goods Inwards Testing Plan and record the results in SAP
  • Carry out internal PPAP measurement in line with specifications and project timing plans
  • Performing measurements of first off/last off parts using CMM Machines and portable scanning arm
  • Perform capability studies along with Gauge R&R Studies to ensure repeatability in the production process
  • Analyse data using statistical techniques (SPC) and complete inspection reports on all measured components

The successful candidate will:

  • Have the ability to write programmes using PCDMIS
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of engineering drawings and specifications, together with previous knowledge and experience of GD&T
  • Be able to demonstrate previous knowledge of statistical methods (SPC), 8D process, Ishikawa, FMEA etc.
