An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quality Manager to join a growing SME manufacturing business in Oldbury that supplies precision components to both the Automotive and Aerospace sectors. This role offers genuine autonomy within a flat organisational structure, allowing the successful candidate to make an immediate impact. It would suit either a Senior Quality Engineer ready to step into management or an experienced Quality Manager looking for a role where they can take ownership of the quality function and drive improvements across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintaining, monitoring and continually improving the Quality Management System (QMS)
- Managing day-to-day quality activities including problem solving using 8D, 5 Whys, Root Cause Analysis and PPAP
- Leading and supporting internal, customer and third-party audits
- Ensuring compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949 and AS9100 standards
- Managing customer quality relationships across Automotive and Aerospace clients
- Monitoring and reporting quality KPIs, driving continuous improvement initiatives
- Mentoring and developing junior members of the quality team
- Supporting wider business improvement and operational excellence initiatives
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience in Quality Management within Automotive, Aerospace, or precision engineering manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of QMS systems and industry standards (ISO 9001, IATF 16949 and/or AS9100)
- Experience managing customer audits and supplier quality issues
- Strong problem-solving capability and experience with structured quality tools
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
