The predicted salary is between 45000 - 55000 Β£ per year.
We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join our NPI team, leading the successful introduction of new products from concept through to production. This is a hands-on role ideal for an engineer with strong experience in automotive manufacturing covering mould tooling and manufacturing process developments. You'll work closely with design, quality, supply chain and production teams to ensure products are launched on time, on budget and Right First Time.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and validation of manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Manage injection mould tooling projects from concept through supplier selection, trials and production release.
- Apply DFM/DFA principles to optimise product and tooling designs.
- Support quotations, supplier selection and RFQ activities.
- Coordinate operational activities throughout the NPD lifecycle.
- Deliver SOP readiness, operator training and post-launch support.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations.
About You:
- Minimum 5 years' manufacturing engineering experience within an NPI/NPD environment.
- Strong knowledge of plastic injection mould tooling, tool trials and validation.
- Experience of injection moulding processes, materials and tooling construction.
- Familiar with APQP, PFMEA, Control Plans and Process Flow documentation.
- Understanding of assembly processes, fixtures, automation and poka-yoke techniques.
- HNC/HND or Degree qualified in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Plastics Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- Practical, hands-on approach with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
