With world championship titles and decades of innovation behind us, we’re now looking for a Senior Design Engineer (Mechanical) to join our elite engineering team. Reporting to the Chief Designer, the role will involve working on some of our primary whole-car design projects. The role and responsibilities include:
- Design advanced models and drawings of a variety of car components and chassis design.
- Verification of designs through own calculations, analysis and CAE.
- Ensuring the success of the design from inception through to production.
- Liaise with the Chief Designer and Engineers to improve and confirm the design to achieve maximum car performance, reliability and durability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, build, and procurement.
- Use theoretical knowledge of material science and mechanical engineering to resolve difficult problems.
- Assist the Chief Designer in supporting and mentoring Junior Designers.
We’re looking for a self-motivated team player with a positive and enthusiastic attitude. The ideal candidate will be:
- Educated to MEng or BEng degree level in Motorsport, Automotive or Mechanical Engineering, and have strong knowledge of 3D CAD, preferably CATIA V5.
- Solid understanding of the latest manufacturing techniques and materials, and you should have meticulous attention to detail and a practical approach to problem solving.
- Excellent interpersonal, relationship and team building skills, and share our determination to deliver the very best results.
- Pride yourself on your attention to detail and be capable of delivering a high standard of performance and quality whilst working to strict deadlines in a time-sensitive environment.
Preferred Experience:
- At least 5+ years of experience in a similar environment working in a competitive industry.
- Previous experience of structures and mechanisms, specifically suspension, brakes, steering and chassis structure.
