We’re on the hunt for a skilled and motivated Fabricator to join our specialist and ever-growing team in our Fabrications Department. As a Fabricator at M-Sport UK, you will be instrumental in producing high-specification components for our world-class competition cars. You’ll work from technical drawings and CAD data to fabricate a wide range of bespoke parts, including brackets, mountings, tanks, safety structures and more. This role also offers opportunity for worldwide travel to motorsport events.
The role and responsibilities include:
- Fabrication and welding custom parts and assemblies.
- Use MIG and TIG welding techniques on materials such as thin gauge steels and aluminium.
- Setting up and operating fabrication workshop machinery – Guillotines/ Presses/ Folders.
- Cutting and shaping materials using grinders/ oxy fuel/ plasma processes.
- Working from technical drawings and CAD files to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Fabrication and welding repairs of plant equipment/ trucks/ trailers if and when required.
- Working closely with Designers and Senior Fabricators with development work.
We’re looking for a self-motivated team player with a positive and enthusiastic attitude. The ideal candidate will be:
- Educated to a Level 3 certificate or equivalent qualification in Fabrication and Welding, along with having a good knowledge and understanding of engineering principles.
- High-quality welding skills (MIG and TIG) with excellent attention to detail and highly organised.
- Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and fabrication jigs, along with understanding basic inspection and measurement tools.
- Skilled in multitasking and prioritising workloads under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills, and a keen eye for problem solving.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Preferred Experience:
- Previous experience in a similar fabrications workshop/environment.
