ABOUT THE ROLE

M-Sport UK is globally recognised for designing, building and running championship-winning rally cars. Competing at the highest level of international motorsport, our success is built on engineering excellence, innovation, and the dedication of our people. We are now looking for a skilled Event Electrical Technician to strengthen our busy Electrical and Event teams. This hands-on, travel-focused role is crucial in ensuring our competition cars are fully operational and electrically fault-free throughout testing and events around the world.

As an Event Electrical Technician, you will be responsible for the preparation, maintenance, and diagnostics of electrical systems on competition cars both before and after tests and events. You’ll work closely with rally engineers and mechanics to deliver peak performance and reliability under pressure.

The role and responsibilities include:

  • Provide electrical support on global motorsport programmes with fault diagnosis, repairs and replacement of wiring harnesses and electrical components.
  • Carrying out extensive pre-event checks to our high-performance competition vehicles.
  • Maintaining our event spares package.
  • Creating post event reports to provide feedback to our Engineering team.
  • Working alongside our Electrical Supervisor and Engineering team on technical issues identified and suggestions for improvement.
  • Building wiring harnesses from technical drawings.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for a self-motivated team player with a positive and enthusiastic attitude. The ideal candidate will be:

  • Experienced in crimping, soldering and harness assembly skills using high-specification components.
  • Strong understanding of electrical schematics and harness layout drawings.
  • Highly organised, and delivery focused, with a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Skilled in multitasking and prioritising workloads under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills, and a keen eye for problem solving and implementing solutions with an analytical approach.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Preferred Experience:

  • Previous experience in a motorsport environment, preferably with rally, rallycross, or racing.
  • Understanding of FIA regulations relating to electrical systems.
