This apprenticeship provides hands-on training within the Electrical Department, supporting the manufacture, assembly and testing of complex electrical harness systems used in competition vehicles. Apprentices gain practical experience working to professional motorsport standards while developing specialist electrical engineering skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the build and assembly of electrical wiring looms and harnesses.
- Learn to read and interpret wiring diagrams and technical drawings.
- Prepare, cut, terminate and label wires to precise specifications.
- Support fault finding, testing and quality control checks.
- Carry out soldering, crimping, heat-shrinking and loom preparation using approved tools and techniques.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
- Work closely with experienced technicians to meet production deadlines.
Qualifications
- Strong interest in automotive, electrical engineering and motorsport.
- Good understanding of engineering principles.
- Practical, hands-on approach with strong attention to detail.
- Organised and willing to learn technical workshop skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- GCSEs (or equivalent) grades 9-4 (A-C) in Maths, English and a Science subject.
- Level 2 qualification in Engineering desirable but not essential.
