New for this year, we have an exciting opportunity for motivated and energetic individuals looking to be a part of our Motorsport Engineering Degree Apprenticeship Programme. This programme is designed to develop the knowledge, key skills and practices it takes to be a successful Motorsport Engineer. This unique opportunity allows you to rotate through a variety of technical and production departments to gain a full understanding of how a competition car is designed, built, and developed.

The role and responsibilities include:

  • Supporting engineers and technicians across multiple departments.
  • Learn to interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and technical data.
  • Assist with design, analysis, build, and testing activities.
  • Develop an understanding of vehicle systems and how they integrate.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and problem‑solving tasks.
  • Balance academic study with practical, hands‑on experience.

We’re looking for a self‑motivated team player with a positive and enthusiastic attitude. The ideal candidate will be:

  • Good knowledge and understanding of engineering principles.
  • Strong interest in motorsport and automotive engineering.
  • A desire to learn how a race car works as a complete system.
  • A practical hands‑on approach with excellent attention to detail and highly organised.
  • Ability to follow instructions, and work both independently and collaboratively as part of a multi‑disciplinary team.
  • Good communication skills, and a keen eye for problem solving.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) grades 9 – 4 (or A* – C) in Maths, English, and Science.
  • Level 3 subjects must include a mathematics‑based subject and a physics‑based subject; for instance, A‑Level Maths and Physics, or BTEC Extended Diploma in Engineering.
  • 104 UCAS points that carry over from either A‑Levels, BTECs or T‑Levels.

To be successful on this programme, you should be passionate about motorsport and STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) and have a desire to pursue a career within this field. As an Apprentice Engineer, you will receive comprehensive training on a range of our projects and products for some of the most prestigious competition cars in the motorsport industry. Throughout the programme, you’ll rotate across key departments, building a well‑rounded engineering skillset and true ‘whole car’ understanding. You will complete a Motorsport Engineering Degree Apprenticeship (Product Design & Development) in partnership with the University of Greater Manchester.

Course duration: 5 years + End Point Assessment (EPA). Combination of workplace learning and academic study. This apprenticeship meets the academic requirements for IEng.
