Operating at the highest levels of international motorsport, M-Sport UK delivers championship-winning programmes across the FIA World Rally Championship, Rally-Raid, GT racing and a variety of global customer racing activities.

We are looking to recruit a skilled and motivated Event Electrical Technician to join our Electrical Department at our Dovenby Hall headquarters.

This role plays a key part in supporting our global motorsport programmes, ensuring competition vehicles remain electrically reliable and fully operational throughout testing and events around the world.

Working closely with Engineers, Mechanics and the wider Event Team, you will be responsible for diagnosing faults, maintaining electrical systems and supporting the continuous improvement of our competition vehicles in some of the most demanding environments in motorsport.

The role responsibilities include

Support: Provide electrical support across global motorsport programmes, including fault diagnosis, repairs and replacement of wiring harnesses and electrical components.

  • Vehicle Preparation: Carry out extensive pre-event inspections and electrical checks on high-performance competition vehicles to ensure maximum reliability.
  • Fault Finding & Diagnostics: Diagnose and resolve electrical issues efficiently both in the workshop and under the time pressures of live events.
  • Spares Management: Maintain and manage event electrical spares packages, ensuring critical components are available and prepared for deployment.
  • Technical Reporting: Produce detailed post-event reports, providing feedback on vehicle performance, reliability and identified technical issues.
  • Harness Manufacture & Repair: Build, repair and modify wiring harnesses and electrical assemblies from technical drawings and specifications.
  • Engineering Collaboration: Work closely with the Electrical Supervisor and Engineering Team to investigate issues, implement improvements and support future developments.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the ongoing development of electrical systems, processes and reliability improvements across all competition programmes.

Essential Criteria & Skills

  • Harness Assembly Experience: Proven experience in crimping, soldering and electrical harness assembly using high-specification components and tooling.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and harness layout drawings.
  • Attention to Detail: Highly organised, delivery-focused and committed to maintaining the highest standards of quality and reliability.
  • Problem Solving: Analytical and methodical approach to fault diagnosis, troubleshooting and implementing effective solutions.
  • Time Management: Ability to multitask, prioritise workloads and perform effectively under pressure in time-critical environments.
  • Communication & Teamwork: Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Travel Flexibility: Willingness and flexibility to travel internationally in support of events and test programmes throughout the season.

Preferred Experience

  • Previous experience within a professional motorsport environment, ideally in rallying, rallycross, circuit racing or similar disciplines.
  • Understanding of FIA regulations relating to electrical systems and motorsport safety requirements is desirable.
