M & R Carpentry Ltd are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented self-employed 2nd Fix Carpenter specialising in the final stages of construction and interior finishing. Responsible for installing and completing high-quality woodwork elements that contribute to the overall appearance and functionality of residential properties.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation of internal doors (including fire doors), door frames, and ironmongery (handles, hinges, locks)
- Fitting skirting boards, architraves, and decorative mouldings
- Constructing and fitting cupboards and shelving units, bath panels, toilet roll holders, mirrors and other bathroom fittings where required
- Final adjustments to ensure all fixtures are aligned, functional, and finished to a high standard
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings and plans
- Ensuring all work complies with building regulations and health & safety standards
- Liaising with clients, contractors, and other trades on-site
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in 2nd fix carpentry
- High level of precision and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage own workload
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Proficient with hand and power tools
- Good communication and customer service skills
- CITB certificate, paslode nail gun training certificate and CSCS qualifications ideal
