M Pro Recruitment is working with a well-established fire protection contractor who are looking to recruit an experienced Commercial Fire Sprinkler Estimator / Designer to join their growing commercial team. This is a senior-level role offering excellent earning potential and progression for the right individual. The position is primarily office-based in Crawley, with the opportunity for hybrid working. Attendance in the office will be required at least 4 days per week (to be discussed).
The Role
- You will take on the position of Senior Sprinkler System Estimator (Commercial), working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver accurate, compliant, and competitive tenders.
- Collaborating and liaising with project managers, project engineers, and subcontractors.
- Reviewing and understanding technical specifications and project requirements.
- Preparing detailed cost estimates and tailored proposals for commercial sprinkler projects.
- Measuring and quantifying sprinkler heads, pipework, valves, and associated components.
- Carrying out site surveys where required.
- Costing and assessing contract values.
- Issuing enquiries to the supply chain and reviewing returned quotations.
- Preparing tender documentation, presentations, and technical submittals.
- Mentoring and supporting trainee estimators within the department.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant standards, including basic LPCB requirements.
- Taking on managerial responsibilities where appropriate and aligned with experience.
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience within the construction industry with a basic understanding of MEP services.
- Background as a Senior Sprinkler System Estimator, Sprinkler Installation Estimating Engineer, or similar role.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience working on commercial fire sprinkler projects.
- Strong knowledge of BS EN 12845 (essential).
- LPCB qualifications highly beneficial.
- Proficient in CAD software (highly desirable).
- Strong commercial awareness, attention to detail, and communication skills.
