M O’Brien Plant Hire are seeking a motivated and customer focussed individual to join our team as key account manager to develop the company’s client base in the south of the UK whilst strengthening existing customer relationships.
Responsibilities
- Business development activities to highlight and on-board new customers.
- Securing sustainable business growth.
- Manage and grow existing customer accounts.
- Maintain good customer relations, supporting their innovation and SHEQ initiatives.
- Producing quotations and customer pricing agreements.
- Dealing with customer queries and any preliminary aged debt management.
- Liaise with internal departments to provide accurate updates for equipment ETA’s.
- Assisting with communication of breakdown or service visits.
- Monitoring and reporting on progress of customers projects.
- Liaising with the depot to have good knowledge of product availability and features.
- Leading presentations to new customers during tender processes.
- Assisting with large tenders for national or major frameworks.
- Communicating and showcasing new initiatives/ products and innovations to customers.
- Producing a weekly sales report to keep management informed of upcoming opportunities/ projects nearing completion/ requirement for different equipment/ lost hires/ aged debts/ customer feedback and any points requiring escalation.
- Ultimately ensuring that high levels of service are delivered across the business to ensure excellent customer satisfaction.
Skills and experience
- Experience within the construction plant rental or sales market (3 years minimum).
- Computer literate and competent in Microsoft office programs including Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- A passion for customer service.
- Experience of Syrinx is preferable but training can be provided.
- Great communication skills and the ability to speak to clients and colleagues within all departments.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage your diary to good effect.
- The ability to work to deadlines.
- Being comfortable with presenting to an audience.
- The ability to work to a high level of detail.
