The Role
As a Plant Fitter, you’ll be responsible for the maintenance and repair of a wide range of heavy plant equipment, including excavators, dumpers, and other construction machinery. Experience with HGV repairs is a strong advantage, as you'll also occasionally assist with the servicing and upkeep of our tipper fleet.
Key Duties
- Carry out servicing, repairs, and inspections on plant machinery
- Diagnose and fix mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues
- Assist with HGV/tipper maintenance as needed
- Keep accurate service records and report defects
- Ensure all work complies with safety and environmental regulations
- Support breakdowns and reactive maintenance when required
What We’re Looking For
- Experience as a plant fitter, construction mechanic, or similar
- Strong mechanical and hydraulic knowledge
- Experience working on HGVs/tippers is a major advantage
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Plant or Vehicle Maintenance (preferred)
- Full UK driving licence required (HGV licence beneficial)
- Reliable, self-motivated, and safety-conscious
