We are looking for a Senior People Partner – Technology & Product to join our Human Resources Department as we scale up and drive digital and financial inclusion globally. M-KOPA is a fast-scaling, mission-driven fintech using technology to unlock financial and digital access for underserved communities. We’re looking for a Senior People Partner to support our Product, Engineering, and Tech functions as we build the infrastructure for inclusive, scalable innovation. You’ll partner closely with senior tech leaders and cross-functional teams across multiple regions to design and implement people strategies that scale our business. Your work will shape how technical teams grow, evolve, and thrive—from agile org design to data-driven decision-making, from global talent strategies to engineering engagement and retention. Reporting to our HR & Talent Director, you’ll work in a remote-first, distributed environment with teams across the UK, Europe, Kenya, South Africa, Nigeria, and more—applying deep people expertise to the nuances of high-growth tech at scale. Your leadership in refining HR processes and implementing innovative strategies will be key to driving M-KOPA’s growth and success, making this role both impactful and rewarding. What You’ll Do Strategic Partner to Tech Leaders: Be a trusted advisor to Engineering, Product, and Data leaders and people managers—aligning strategies to roadmap execution and team evolution to meet start-up, scale-up & Unicorn talent where they are at. Scale Talent for Tech Growth: Build and implement cross-cultural programs to attract, develop, and retain top technical talent to drive performance excellence. Drive Agile & Distributed Team Effectiveness: Scale and optimize performance, engagement, and team dynamics in a fast-paced, asynchronous work environment. Use People Analytics to Inform Action: Partner with CoEs and clients to analyze data on topics like engagement, DEI, and retention—and turn insights into action. Support Org Design & Change: Lead initiatives around team transformations, employee relations cases, and workforce planning, remote engagement, and more. Embed a Culture of Innovation & Inclusion: Reinforce M-KOPA’s values in every touchpoint—from performance and development to feedback loops and rituals. What You Bring Senior HR Experience in Tech: You’ve built relationships and partnered closely to add measurable value with technical orgs (Engineering, Product, Data) and remote-first teams, understanding how they operate—from sprints to systems to structure. Strategic and Operational Range: You\’re equally comfortable designing long-term org strategies and rolling up your sleeves to get things done at the team level. Remote & Global Savvy: You know how to support cross-cultural teams from Africa to Europe & UK, navigating complexity with empathy, adaptability, and clarity. Client Advisory & Analytics: You adapt to different stakeholder needs (eg leadership org plans, manager trainings, employee performance), leveraging data, influence, and updating process / policy to enhance long-term org effectiveness. Strong Business Acumen: You can translate between people priorities and business outcomes—advising leaders on trade-offs, risks, and scalable solutions.
