Senior SHEQ Advisor – Social Housing / Refurbishment

MK Consult are recruiting for an experienced Senior SHEQ Advisor to join a growing contractor delivering major social housing, refurbishment, retrofit and planned works programmes across the North West.
This is a senior, hands-on SHEQ position supporting multiple projects and operational teams, with responsibility for driving high standards across Safety, Health, Environment and Quality.
Working closely with the SHEQ Manager, you will provide practical advice and guidance to operational teams, support and mentor SHEQ Advisors and help embed a positive, proactive safety culture across the business.
The Role
As Senior SHEQ Advisor, your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting multiple social housing, refurbishment and construction projects across the region
- Championing a positive SHEQ culture across operational teams and sites
- Providing practical Health & Safety advice and guidance to Site Managers, Contracts Managers and wider operational teams
- Supporting the implementation of SHEQ policies, procedures and improvement plans
- Coaching and mentoring SHEQ Advisors across designated workstreams
- Acting as deputy to the SHEQ Manager when required
- Undertaking site visits, inspections and audits
- Supporting project teams with risk registers and compliance requirements
- Leading and supporting investigations into incidents, near misses and non-conformances
- Identifying root causes and ensuring appropriate corrective actions are implemented
- Sharing lessons learned and best practice across projects
- Monitoring SHEQ performance, trends and audit findings
- Building strong relationships with clients, subcontractors xgikmsk and internal operational teams
- Attending project, pre-start and planning meetings
- Supporting continuous improvement across safety, environmental and quality performance
What We're Looking For
We are looking for an experienced SHEQ professional who has worked within construction, social housing, refurbishment, planned works, retrofit or a similar contracting environment.
