My client is a leading construction and project delivery company committed to providing high-quality, safe, and sustainable solutions across a range of construction sectors. As our business continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced and motivated Health & Safety Manager to lead our health, safety, environmental, and wellbeing strategy across all projects.
The Role
As Health & Safety Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of safety performance throughout our construction operations. Working closely with senior management, site teams, subcontractors, and clients, you will drive a proactive safety culture and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the company's Health & Safety Management System.
- Ensure compliance with UK Health & Safety legislation, including CDM Regulations and construction industry standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments across multiple projects.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and accidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to project managers, site managers, and operational teams.
- Deliver health and safety inductions, training sessions, and toolbox talks.
- Monitor health and safety performance through KPI reporting and trend analysis.
- Manage subcontractor compliance and ensure robust safety standards are maintained across all sites.
- Liaise with clients, regulatory bodies, and external auditors when required.
- Promote employee wellbeing and support initiatives that enhance workplace safety culture.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- NEBOSH Diploma in Construction ideally.
- Proven experience in a Health & Safety management role within the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of CDM Regulations, risk management, and construction safety practices.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Experience conducting audits, investigations, and developing safety improvement plans.
- A proactive, hands-on approach and the confidence to challenge unsafe behaviours.
- Full UK driving licence.
