My client, a respected and growing organisation within the social housing sector, is seeking an experienced and motivated Estimator to join their team in Wigan. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially aware professional who is passionate about delivering high-quality refurbishment and planned maintenance projects across the North West.
About the Role
You will be responsible for producing accurate, competitive, and compliant estimates for social housing projects. Working closely with pre-construction, commercial, and operational teams, you will help secure new work and support the continued growth of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for planned maintenance, refurbishment, and social housing works
- Review and analyse drawings, specifications, and tender documentation
- Source and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations
- Identify risks, opportunities, and value-engineering options
- Prepare tender submissions and support bid presentations
- Work collaboratively with internal teams across the project lifecycle
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of pricing trends, materials, and labour markets
About You
- Previous experience as an Estimator within social housing, construction, or property services
- Strong understanding of planned maintenance, R&M, and refurbishment works
- Excellent numeracy, analytical thinking, and attention to detail
- Ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple tenders
- Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office
- A proactive and organised approach
