This is an opportunity to join a business at an exciting stage of its growth and take a key operational leadership role helping to turn secured work into well-mobilised, well-managed and profitable contracts.

We are looking for an Operations Manager who is as strong with people as they are with contracts. Working closely with the senior leadership team, Commercial team and Contracts Managers, you will provide the structure, leadership and operational support needed to successfully mobilise new contracts and ensure existing programmes are delivering against their commitments.

The Role

  • Take responsibility for a portfolio of contracts across the North West, with a focus on:
  • Leading and developing Contracts Managers and operational teams
  • Taking new contracts from award through mobilisation into successful delivery
  • Making sure the right people, processes, supply chain and resources are in place from day one
  • Driving operational performance across multiple contracts

About You

We want an operational leader who understands people. You will know how to get the best from Contracts Managers and their teams, how to challenge constructively, how to bring structure when a contract needs it and how to create a culture where people take ownership. You are likely to have:

  • Senior operational experience within social housing, planned maintenance, refurbishment, retrofit or regeneration
  • Experience managing multiple contracts and Contracts Managers
  • A strong track record of contract mobilisation
  • Good commercial awareness and an understanding of margin, cost control and profitability
  • Strong client relationship skills
  • The ability to move comfortably between strategic conversations and what's actually happening on site
  • A collaborative, visible and down-to-earth leadership style
  • Experience developing people rather than simply managing performance

Why Join?

This is a business with genuine growth ambitions in the North West and an established reputation within social housing. The opportunity is bigger than simply inheriting a portfolio of contracts. You'll have the chance to shape how operations are delivered as the region grows, develop the people around you, strengthen client relationships and help build an operational structure capable of supporting the next stage of the business. For somebody who enjoys people, performance, contracts and making things work, this could be a very good next move.

Salary: £75,000 - £90,000 + package, dependent on experience.
