About the Role
We are now recruiting a strategic and proactive Capital Investment Finance Manager to join their ambitious Property and Asset Management team. In this vital role, you will be the financial cornerstone of their investment programmes, bringing together Quantity Surveying expertise and financial acumen to support the full project lifecycle from feasibility through to final account. Working closely with the Head of Assets and Investment, you will oversee a small team and lead on financial planning, forecasting, grant management, and cost control for all capital and regeneration projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead on financial planning and cost control for capital investment and regeneration programmes
- Deliver detailed financial forecasting, reporting and budgeting in collaboration with finance teams
- Oversee contract procurement, cost planning, tender evaluations, and claims for grant funding
- Ensure robust financial governance, value for money, and compliance with funding and regulatory requirements
- Provide expert contract and procurement advice, including JCT and NEC contracts
- Contribute to long-term planning, including the 10-year and 30-year investment strategies
- Coach and lead Quantity Surveyors and support staff, encouraging financial best practice and professional development
- Act as a point of escalation for complex financial and contractual queries and disputes
What We’re Looking For
You will be an experienced Quantity Surveyor or finance-focused professional with a strong track record in construction or housing. You will also bring:
- A relevant qualification (e.g., HND/HNC in Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying, or Construction)
- Strong working knowledge of procurement, tendering, and cost control
- Excellent financial and data analysis skills, including Excel
- Practical understanding of construction contracts (JCT, NEC)
- Knowledge of key housing and construction regulations (e.g. Building Regs, CDM, HHSRS, Asbestos etc.)
- Experience managing or mentoring small teams
- A collaborative and proactive mindset with strong communication skills
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
