The Opportunity
MK Consult is recruiting for a Planned Works Supervisor to join an established contractor delivering a kitchen replacement programme for a housing association across Merseyside. This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong trade background who is ready to take the next step into supervision, or an experienced supervisor who enjoys being hands-on with the day-to-day delivery of planned works programmes.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you'll work closely with the Delivery Manager and Programme Manager to ensure works are completed safely, efficiently, on programme and to a high standard. The contract currently delivers approximately 10 kitchen replacements per week, so we're looking for someone who is organised, proactive and comfortable coordinating trades, managing quality and ensuring customers receive a positive experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the day-to-day delivery of kitchen replacement works across occupied social housing properties.
- Coordinate trades and subcontractors to achieve programme targets of approximately 10 kitchens per week.
- Oversee both front-end and back-end activities, ensuring properties are ready for works and completed to the required standard.
- Work closely with the Delivery Manager and Programme Manager to maintain progress and resolve any operational issues.
- Carry out site inspections, quality checks, snagging and handovers.
- Ensure all works comply with health and safety requirements and company procedures.
- Maintain good communication with residents, ensuring disruption is minimised.
- Monitor productivity, workmanship and programme performance.
- Identify and resolve site issues to keep works progressing on schedule.
What We're Looking For
- Experience working within planned maintenance, refurbishment or kitchen and bathroom replacement programmes.
- A background in a construction trade, ideally carpentry, joinery or kitchen installations.
- Previous supervisory experience would be beneficial but is not essential.
- A good understanding of working within occupied social housing properties.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to coordinate multiple trades and manage daily workloads.
- A practical, solutions-focused approach.
- SSSTS or SMSTS qualification desirable.
- Full UK driving licence.
Why Apply?
This is an excellent opportunity to join an established planned works contract with a consistent programme of work across Merseyside. For someone currently working on the tools, this could be the ideal opportunity to progress into a supervisory position, with support from an experienced operational and delivery management team. Equally, we'd welcome applications from existing supervisors who enjoy being out on site, working with trades and ensuring a quality service is delivered to residents.
