We are currently recruiting for an experienced Compliance Officer to join a well-established housing organisation on a 6-month fixed term contract. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in property compliance to play a key role in ensuring statutory and regulatory obligations are met across a diverse housing portfolio.
The Role
- Supporting the Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operational delivery of statutory compliance services.
- This includes overseeing key compliance areas such as gas, electrical, fire safety, asbestos, legionella, lifts, and wider mechanical and electrical services.
- You will act as a central point of contact, ensuring a high-quality, value-for-money compliance service is delivered, while maintaining accurate data, reporting performance, and working closely with internal teams and external contractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery and management of the organisations compliance framework.
- Oversee servicing, inspection programmes, and follow-up works.
- Ensure compliance data is accurate, up to date, and audit-ready.
- Monitor performance and produce regular compliance reports.
- Manage contractor relationships, meetings, and performance.
- Raise works orders, manage variations, and reconcile invoices.
- Support audits and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical advice on property compliance and health & safety.
About You
We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running and bring:
- Experience in property compliance within housing or a similar sector.
- Strong knowledge of health & safety and compliance legislation (gas, fire, electrical, asbestos, etc.).
- Experience managing contractors and compliance programmes.
- Good data management and reporting skills (including Excel).
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- A proactive, organised, and performance-driven approach.
- Relevant qualifications (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) and compliance-related training are desirable.
