The Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and enthusiastic Purchase Ledger Assistant to join our Finance team. This is a key role supporting the accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices and payments. You’ll work closely with colleagues across Finance and Plant Hire to manage supplier accounts and resolve queries efficiently.
AsPurchase Ledger Assistant, you will:
- Set up new supplier accounts and verify VAT registration and bank details
- Process supplier invoices and statements, ensuring accuracy and correct coding
- Date stamp, sort and scan invoices for records
- Maintain the purchase ledger inbox and follow up on missing invoices
- Reconcile supplier statements to ensure payments are up to date
- Assist in preparing payment runs
- Handle supplier queries by phone and email
- Liaise with internal teams to resolve invoice or payment issues
Who You Are
You’re organised, reliable, and eager to learn. You have excellent attention to detail, enjoy working with numbers, and can communicate confidently over the phone and by email. Experience in a finance setting is ideal, but your attitude and willingness to develop are just as important.
Key Skills:
- Experience with purchase ledger processes (desirable)
- AAT or basic bookkeeping knowledge (desirable)
- Understanding of VAT and invoice matching
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
