The Role
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager – Earthworks to join our project team in the East region of England, a technically complex and high-value scheme. Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the earthworks component of the project, ensuring its timely, safe, and efficient delivery within budget and to the highest quality standards.
As Project Manager, you will:
- Lead the earthworks portion of the project, managing resources, budget, and project timelines.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations on-site.
- Coordinate the use of plant, machinery, and personnel to ensure project milestones are met efficiently.
- Oversee subcontractors and liaise with clients, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
- Monitor and control project costs, providing regular financial updates to senior management.
- Provide regular progress reports and updates to the Senior Project Manager.
- Oversee the quality control of all earthworks operations and ensure compliance with relevant standards.
- Contribute to the development of project plans and strategies in collaboration with other senior team members.
Who You Are
You bring strong civil engineering experience, particularly in earthworks, from Tier 1 or major infrastructure projects. You have a track record of managing large-scale civil engineering projects and are confident overseeing teams and subcontractors in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Key Skills:
- Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Experience managing large-scale earthworks or civil engineering projects.
- Strong knowledge of NEC contracts and experience with contract administration.
- Proficiency in project management software such as MS Project or Primavera P6.
- Experience with budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to health, safety, and environmental best practices on-site.
