The Role

Working from our modern, purpose-built Transport Workshop at Star Farm, you’ll help keep our fleet moving — maintaining and repairing a wide range of MAN, Scania, Volvo, DAF and Renault vehicles used across our busy operations in and beyond the Southwest.

  • Servicing, repairing, and maintaining a diverse fleet of HGVs safely and efficiently
  • Carrying out diagnostics and preparing vehicles for MOT
  • Ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards and accurately documented
  • Attending roadside breakdowns when required
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organised workspace
  • Follow instructions from job cards/defect sheets and comply with repair instructions
  • Using your initiative to problem-solve and get vehicles back on the road quickly to the highest safety standards

Who You Are

  • Level 3 Qualification in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics
  • Proven experience maintaining and repairing HGVs in a commercial workshop
  • Confident with fault-finding, diagnostics, and maintenance routines
  • A strong team player with a proactive attitude and great attention to detail
  • Commitment to safe working practices and high-quality workmanship
  • IRTEC accreditation advantageous
  • Full UK driving licence (HGV licence a bonus)
  • Experience in the waste or recycling industry is an advantage, but not essential
  • Call Out and Overtime available after 8.5 hours daily + weekends.
  • AM/PM rotating shifts (AM: 6:00am–2:30pm / PM: 1:30pm–10:00pm)
  • 20 days’ holiday + Bank Holidays (opportunity to purchase further holiday)
