Our Group Support roles are vital in making sure we can help over 11,000 people deliver essential infrastructure seamlessly across water, energy, transport and telecom. This role is in our Plant and Fleet department, which supports teams across our business with their vehicle, plant and specialist equipment needs.

An exciting opportunity is available for a skilled and ambitious individual to join a growing plant hire division, working closely alongside the Plant Engineer and senior leadership team. This role is ideally suited to someone already established within the plant industry such as a Senior Fitter or Workshop Engineer who is ready to step into a Plant Engineer position, with structured support and development provided.

From day one, involvement in the full scope of plant engineering activity will be expected. Responsibilities will be shared with the current Plant Engineer, offering the opportunity to build knowledge, confidence, and experience across all aspects of the role, ahead of future full accountability.

Technical Leadership & Plant Specification
  • Support the specification, acquisition, and management of plant and equipment
  • Ensure plant aligns with operational requirements and long-term business goals
  • Carry out performance and reliability assessments
Commercial & Business Support
  • Contribute to plant lifecycle modelling and asset planning
  • Provide technical expertise to internal teams, customers, and suppliers
Supplier & Asset Management
  • Participate in technical reviews, inspections, and investigations
  • Travel nationwide to customer and supplier sites
  • Support and represent the engineering function in meetings and projects
