Where will you be working?
At M Group Energy, we’re enabling the energy essential to support our lives. We provide an end-to-end service, delivering solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering and home decarbonisation. This role will be in our Transmission & Renewables team. We design, build and commission substations at voltages up to and including 400kV. Our teams construct and maintain transmission lines and substations, ensuring the efficient and reliable delivery of electricity. This role will be covering our SPEN framework across the Central Belt, Scotland.
What will you be doing?
- As a Project Manager, you’ll be a key part in delivering complex Overhead Lines projects across Scotland.
- You’ll take full ownership of project planning, execution, safety performance, and stakeholder coordination, ensuring works are delivered to the highest standards of quality, compliance, and reliability.
- Ensure health, safety, and quality plans for all sites.
- Maintain and review site documentation.
- Communicate changes to internal departments.
- Provide technical support to the Design team.
- Act as the main contact for third-party interactions.
- Coordinate resources with Operations and Portfolio Heads.
- Capture and evaluate contract changes with the Commercial team.
- Improve project efficiency and profitability.
- Submit accurate time bookings, allowances, and expenses.
- Produce monthly and close-out reports.
- Lead and mentor the project management team.
- Represent the company to clients and stakeholders.

What you’ll bring:
- Knowledge of UK electrical transmission and distribution infrastructure, ideally with some experience in Overhead Line construction and refurbishment projects.
- 5 years of experience in large-scale construction projects as a Project Manager.
- Understanding of NEC3/4 construction contracts.
- Client-facing experience with blue-chip clients, including leading stakeholder meetings.
- Project Management qualifications or a degree in Higher Education.
- Recognized Health & Safety qualification (e.g., NEBOSH General Certificate).
- Full UK driving license - willingness to travel and work away where required.
