Where you'll be working?
We help our clients safeguard the water supply, improve environmental performance and manage demand for future generations. We enhance and extend asset life, ensuring compliance with water quality and environmental standards. We are problem solvers with over 140 years of combined experience in engineering and infrastructure. This role will be within our clean water team safeguarding the quality, reliability, and performance of drinking water across our region. We work across complex network systems, enhancing, maintaining, installing, and repairing infrastructure from pipes to water meters, to ensure consistently high-water quality. Through proactive network management and resilient engineering, we help ensure communities have safe, dependable water supplies every day.
What you'll be doing?
You'll play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of company issued devices and applications used by field operatives. You'll be responsible for managing and supporting all aspects of the device and app ecosystem, including onboarding and offboarding employees, ensuring compliance with all relevant policies and procedures, and providing technical support to end-users. You'll manage the lifecycle of all company-issued devices (e.g., iPads, tablets). 60% of this role will be based out in the field and will cover the West and North where you'll monitor and troubleshoot device and application performance issues. You'll proactively identify and implement improvements to device and app functionality and user experience. You'll provide training to field operatives on the use of company-issued devices and applications and act as a primary point of contact for all technical inquiries related to devices and applications. You'll maintain an accurate and up-to-date inventory of all company-issued devices and reconcile device inventory with Welsh Water records whilst tracking and reporting on device damage and associated costs. This is a 12 month Fixed Term Contract.
What you'll bring?
- Confident supporting users with mobile and desktop applications
- Ability to guide non-technical users through app installation and day-to-day usage
- Basic troubleshooting skills for common device and application issues
- Good general computer literacy and experience using standard business software
- Ability to travel to operational sites and provide face-to-face user support
- Experience providing user training or onboarding support is desirable
- Ability to identify issues requiring escalation to the IT Helpdesk
- Experience in using all Microsoft packages
- Valid UK driving licence
