Where will you be working?

At M Group Highways, we’re supporting the safe transportation and movement of people across the UK. We don’t just build roads and bridges - we’re building a better future, creating lasting social value that gives back to the communities in which we work. You’ll be joining our Streetlighting team, as a major supplier of specialist highway electrical services, our streetlighting teams maintain and design over 350,000 street lighting assets.

What will you be doing?

  • Visually and structurally inspect street lighting units and supply points
  • Undertake routine maintenance, bulk lamp changes, cleaning, and reactive repairs
  • Report defects and update asset inventory using PDAs/Tablets
  • Collect CMS information and update as-built records
  • Test electrical networks and circuits, including testing to BS7671
  • Assist routine maintenance operatives when required
  • Perform daily vehicle checks and maintain vehicle cleanliness
  • Ensure public safety and communication during works
  • Carry out standby and call-out duties

  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations Part 1 / Level 2 Electrical Qualification or equivalent
  • Part 2 / Level 3 Electrical Qualification or equivalent
  • 2391 Inspection & Testing (desirable)
  • Understanding of electrical and design drawings
  • Flexible approach to work location across the network
  • Willingness to undertake night work when required
  • Street lighting knowledge
  • IT literate
  • Able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Good manual dexterity and confident using hand tools
  • Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions on uneven ground
  • Able to work in confined spaces without restriction
