Where will you be working?

We help our clients safeguard the water supply, improve environmental performance and manage demand for future generations. We enhance and extend asset life, ensuring compliance with water quality and environmental standards. We’re problem solvers with over 140 years of combined experience in engineering and infrastructure. This role will be within our MEICA and capital maintenance team. Our Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control & Automation (MEICA) experts offer a one-stop solution, including ongoing operation and maintenance services.

What will you be doing?

  • You will be responsible for maintaining various water assets, including:
  • CSO valves
  • Penstocks
  • Hydraulic Power Units (HPUs)
  • Isolation gates
  • Inspection of chambers and valve equipment
  • Oil equipment inspection, including draining and replacing oil systems
  • Inspection of fixed equipment (fixed ladders, safety bars, grills, etc.)
  • Utilising tooling and measuring equipment, in accordance with engineering drawings and layouts
  • Operating lifting equipment and following approved processes for plant equipment transportation
  • Supporting reactive works during breakdowns

What you’ll bring

  • Do you have previous experience as a fitter?
  • Are you trained or qualified as an apprentice, or to an equivalent NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering?
  • Have you gained successful completion of ONC/HNC in Engineering, NVQ, or C&G Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering?
  • Do you have excellent attention to detail?
  • Are you someone who has a strong focus on safety and quality, with a collaborative teamwork approach?
  • Do you hold a valid UK driving licence?
