About The Role
Where will you be working? At M Group Telecom, we are enabling and enhancing telecom networks, playing a lead role in the delivery of our tech-enabled future. We deliver full network cycle services for fixed, private and mobile operators. Private networks - We find the best technology, manage assets and refresh systems. With 24/7 network operations, we keep things running smoothly, while operating comprehensive network repair and maintenance to keep everything in top shape.
In this role, you will be responsible for producing high-level solution overviews, technical responses, scopes and deliverables, as well as pricing proposals to implement operational telecom solutions for our clients. You will work collaboratively with client stakeholders, third-party partners, and internal Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to evaluate requirements and develop detailed, accurate technical responses that meet business needs. Although the role is predominantly remote, there will be times when on-site work is necessary. This includes attending client meetings, taking part in collaborative workshops, site surveys and participating in team meetings or other face-to-face engagements primarily in the West Midlands.
What will you be doing? You will be responsible for capturing and interpreting customer requirements and translating them into effective technical solutions. You will propose solutions that are scalable, repeatable, and make use of existing portfolio services wherever possible to maximize efficiency and consistency. You will also support quality assurance by promoting standardized design and implementation methodologies, ensuring that all solutions meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. Additionally, you will gather and prepare information for high-level technical and commercial submissions as part of pre-sales activities. This includes preparing bills of materials, breaking down professional services requirements, and addressing other contractual obligations to deliver comprehensive and accurate proposals.
What you'll bring: You will bring proven pre-sales experience within a telecoms network environment, including creating high-level design overviews and demonstrating a strong understanding of both operations and implementation. We will rely on you to maintain a working knowledge of technologies used across customer estates and stay up to date with the wider telecoms industry, so you can clearly articulate the business benefits of proposed solutions. You will be knowledgeable in network architecture and infrastructure, covering both LAN and WAN. You will have a solid understanding of the concepts of LAN & WAN networking protocols and technologies, including switching, routing, and security. We will expect you to produce professional, well-structured documentation that is clear, concise, and explicit in its content. An understanding of Data Centre environments, with specific knowledge of application data flow - how data moves between servers, networks, storage, and application tiers, and the dependencies that influence performance, security, and availability would be beneficial but not essential. Previous experience working within a Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) environment would be highly advantageous. Eligible for, or already in possession of, security clearance.
What's in it for you? We offer a range of benefits designed to support your life in and out of work, some of which include:
- Matched or contributory pension scheme
- Online GP service, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year
- Employee assistance programme
- My Rewards portal, access to 1000s of retail discounts
- Life assurance
- Cycle to work, salary finance and give as you earn schemes
- Enhanced maternity, paternity leave and adoption leave
- Reward and recognition scheme
In addition, this role offers:
- Health Care Cash Plan, giving you the ability to claim back medical expenses for things like dental, eyecare and physiotherapy and much more!
- Discretionary bonus scheme
- 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
