Where will you be working? At M Group Telecom, we’re enabling and enhancing telecom networks, playing a lead role in the delivery of our tech enabled future. We deliver full network cycle services for fixed, private and mobile operators. This role will be within our Private networks. We find the best technology, manage assets and refresh systems. With 24/7 network operations, we keep things running smoothly, while operating comprehensive network repair and maintenance to keep everything in top shape.
What will you be doing? You’ll work as part of the Network Engineering team and provide operational support to the network security architecture. You’ll have a good understanding of IP network architectures and Security and work well as part of a team. Whilst the role is office working hours, you will need to be on a rota for emergency OOH support. At times, travel will be required to customer sites in Warwickshire and Wokingham or to data centres throughout the UK.
- You’ll be providing technical support for network security infrastructure.
- You’ll be monitoring network performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
- You’ll troubleshoot complex networking issues that may involve multiple systems and layers of infrastructure.
- You’ll be performing network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations.
- We’ll need you to be involved in the planning, design, and implementation of network security measures to protect systems and data.
- Conduct regular system audits to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with security policies and regulations.
- Collaborate with IT teams to integrate security protocols into network architecture and operations.
- Be involved in the deployment and maintenance of network security devices such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and VPNs.
- Act on and recover from security incidents, including conducting post-event analyses to prevent future incidents.
- Stay abreast of the latest cybersecurity threats and trends, as well as advancements in network security technologies.
- Develop and enforce policies and procedures for network access, monitoring, and security incident response.
What you’ll bring You’ll have professional security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or equivalent. You’ll have a minimum of 3 years of experience in network security or a related field, with at least 2 years in a leadership role. Strong understanding of network infrastructure, including LAN/WAN, routers, switches, and related network devices. You’ll have expertise in security protocols, cryptography, authentication, authorisation, and security. Excellent analytic and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make well-informed security decisions. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
