This is a site-based role working on a high-profile Substation build project in Rotherham, South Yorkshire. As a Senior SHEQ Advisor, you're a key part of our Site Project Teams! You'll work on high profile Substation projects, working directly with site teams and customer representatives.
Provide expert SHEQ guidance across complex, high-risk and multi-contract environments, supporting operational teams to deliver safe and compliant projects. Act as a technical lead and escalation point for SHEQ Advisors, offering coaching, mentoring and professional development support. Lead assurance activities including audits, inspections, investigations and compliance reviews, driving continuous improvement and risk reduction. Oversee high-risk work activities, ensuring robust RAMS, permits and safe systems of work are in place and effective. Support incident investigations, root cause analysis and the implementation of corrective and preventative actions. Build strong relationships with clients, contractors and operational stakeholders, representing the SHEQ function in meetings and performance reviews. Support SHEQ reporting, compliance monitoring, competence management and data integrity across contracts. Deputise for the SHEQ Manager when required and provide leadership support across multiple projects and contracts. Contribute to SHEQ initiatives, training programmes, safety campaigns and continuous improvement activities. Maintain oversight of subcontractor competence, certification records, onboarding processes and business identity controls.

What you'll bring:
- Essential Previous experience as a Safety Advisor in a construction environment (Substation or HV Electric experience)
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent).
- Valid UK driving licence (due to site-based, multi-contract scope).
- Desirable NEBOSH Diploma or NVQ Level 5/6 in Occupational Health & Safety (working towards with an agreed plan).
- Behavioural Safety and/or Human Factors training.
- Industry-recognised training in high-risk activity areas (e.g. Analytical mindset, supporting risk assessments and incident investigations).
- Strong coaching approach, focused on developing others and sharing knowledge.
