This role is based in the BES Rochdale office. BES works with world-leading organisations in the pharmaceutical, biotech, life sciences and healthcare sectors as well as hi-tech industries to create cutting-edge cleanrooms, laboratories and other sophisticated facilities for the discovery, development and manufacturing of life changing medicines and technologies. An exciting opportunity for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our growing electrical design team. This role is ideally suited to a career-minded, ambitious individual who is looking for that unique opportunity to become a key member of our electrical team that forms part of our wider multidiscipline design team consisting of architectural, mechanical/HVAC & process disciplines. Leading individual projects and working alongside other electrical team members on larger projects throughout various RIBA stages. The work is predominantly building services based, including occasional process works varying from project to project.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing LV distribution schemes using ElectricalOM and Trimble Pro-Design.
  • Designing lighting and emergency lighting schemes using Relux and DIALux.
  • Producing LV, earthing and fire alarm schematic diagrams in AutoCAD.
  • Using REVIT to bring together layouts for small power, mechanical power, earthing, lighting, access control, CCTV, security, voice and data, fire alarm-detection (& VESDA), solar PV, renewables, and facilities monitoring.
  • Creating clear scope documents and schedules that support each stage of the project.
  • Ensuring every design is accurate, coordinated, and ready for delivery.

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Minimum level 5 vocational qualification in electrical engineering.
  • Minimum two years in electrical building services design.
  • Software skills: Microsoft 365, Relux, DIALux, ElectricalOM, Trimble Pro-Design and AutoCAD. A working knowledge of Revit is also preferred.
  • Full UK driving licence.
