This role will be within our water and wastewater capital project delivery team. Our teams deliver large-scale capital programmes aimed at keeping water infrastructure resilient for the long-term while protecting the environment.
As our Temporary Works Coordinator you’ll take responsibility for overseeing all temporary works activities across our projects. You’ll ensure that every element of temporary works is delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with all relevant industry standards and company procedures. Your technical expertise and leadership will be essential in supporting safe, high-quality project delivery.
As the primary point of contact for all temporary works matters, you’ll coordinate design requirements. You’ll develop clear design briefs, issue permits to proceed or load, and maintain accurate temporary works registers. You’ll liaise closely with Temporary Works Designers, contractors, site teams, and external stakeholders. Ensuring all solutions are suitable, compliant, and delivered in line with BS 5975 and internal processes. You’ll also ensure Category 1, 2, and 3 design checks are completed where required. You’ll ensure temporary works are built strictly in accordance with approved drawings and specifications.
Beyond the technical duties, you’ll support the development of Temporary Works Supervisors and other team members, helping to embed strong standards and consistent working practices. Promoting a culture of safety and proactive risk management will be central to your role. You’ll have the ability to collaborate with in-house teams, supply chain partners, and multiple external design consultants simultaneously. Your influence will help secure compliance, drive best practice, and enable the smooth and safe progression of our construction activities.
Do you have extensive experience working in a Temporary Works role within construction, civil engineering, utilities, or infrastructure? Have you had Temporary Works Coordinator training (CITB or equivalent)? Strong understanding of BS 5975 and relevant safety legislation. Do you have excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills?
