This role will be within our water and wastewater capital project delivery team. Our teams deliver large-scale capital programmes aimed at keeping water infrastructure resilient for the long-term while protecting the environment.
As our Technical Lead, you'll be responsible for providing technical authority, assurance, and leadership across water and wastewater projects delivered by M Group Water. The role ensures that all technical solutions are safe, compliant, cost-effective, and fit for purpose, meeting client, regulatory, and M Group Water governance requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
You'll act as the key technical interface between clients, designers, operations, and other M Group Water internal functions, supporting successful delivery across the frameworks. You'll act as the technical authority for clean water, wastewater, and multifunctional assets, providing leadership to engineers, designers, and technical specialists while ensuring compliance with client standards and M Group Water governance.
You'll champion safety-by-design, fulfil Principal Designer duties under CDM 2015, and ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality systems, while managing technical risk and resolving complex issues. You'll provide technical support to project planning, cost, change control, and client engagement.
As a primary technical contact for clients, you'll build strong relationships with stakeholders, promote best practice and standardisation, encourage innovation and digital engineering, and mentor and develop technical staff. This role will involve travel in the South of England.
What you'll bring:
- A degree (or equivalent) in an engineering or scientific discipline (e.g., Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Process Engineering).
- Significant UK water and wastewater engineering experience.
- Strong knowledge of water industry standards and governance.
- Knowledge of construction, NRSWA, CDM 2015, H&S, and process safety.
- Safety-focused and quality-driven.
