Where will you be working? At M Group Energy were enabling the energy essential to support our lives. We provide an end-to-end service, delivering solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering and home decarbonisation. This role will be within our Transmission & Renewables team. We design, build and commission substations at voltages up to and including 400kV. Our teams construct and maintain transmission lines and substations, ensuring the efficient and reliable delivery of electricity. Want to come and be a part of it? Where will you be working? M Group are recruiting for a Planning Manager for our Substations department within the South West/South Wales area. This role is client facing, so a willingness to travel is a must. Youll be managing the production of robust and detailed programmes for all works associated with the design, procurement and construction phases of our substation projects, ensuring the team liaise with the Project/Construction Manager and Site Engineers to ensure that the programme keeps abreast of any changes. Youll be managing and coordinating the production of detailed trackers that can substantiate progress measurements on a regular basis and retain these for analysis on future bids. Mentor and support less experienced members of the planning team on the technical aspects of programming. What will you be doing? Are you a skilled planner with a passion for creating and improving construction schedules? Your expertise will be vital to our success! Were looking for someone who excels at managing resources and subcontractors and who enjoys being involved in every stage of the project, working closely with the site delivery team and attending client meetings, from initial planning to final handover. In this role, you will also collaborate with our bid team, offering your planning expertise to make our bids competitive and accurate. Your ability to collect benchmarking data for value assessments and manage risk, issue, and opportunity registers will be highly valued. What youll bring Proven experience in planning major projects within a high voltage environment Knowledge and experience with national grid substations Experience managing a team Experience working with P6 primavera Experience with NEC contracts A full UK Driving licence Able to collaborate, influence and deal with people at all levels including Executive Directors. Proven track-record of delivering change and implementing strategic initiatives.
