Where will you be working?

At M Group Energy, we’re enabling the energy essential to support our lives. We provide an end-to-end service, delivering solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering and home decarbonisation. This role will be within our Transmission & Renewables team. We design, build and commission substations at voltages up to and including 400kV. Our teams construct and maintain transmission lines and substations, ensuring the efficient and reliable delivery of electricity.

What will you be doing?

Are you a driven Site Engineer looking for your next challenge? Join a dynamic project team where you’ll be involved in the day-to-day engineering operations on site, contributing to high-quality project delivery from start to finish! You’ll:

  • Report safety incidents and near misses internally and to the client
  • Oversee foremen, line workers, and sub-contractors daily
  • Communicate regularly with the client’s site representatives and attend meetings
  • Monitor and manage project costs
  • Create method statements, work instructions, and risk assessments
  • Provide necessary information for contract status reports and other client-required reports
  • Document information to support project claims
  • Plan and coordinate labour, equipment, and materials
  • Determine material needs and coordinate with procurement to ensure availability
  • Adhere to OHSAS 18001, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 standards and company policies
  • Manage health and safety for staff and sub-contractors on projects

What you’ll bring:

  • Self-motivated with good organizational and communication skills
  • Knowledge of Construction/Health & Safety Regulations
  • Site supervision experience on Overhead Line contracts, especially steel tower construction at 132kV+
  • Supervision of technical aspects of line construction
  • Experience with foundation construction in Transmission projects and setting out instruments
  • Management of sub-contractors and recording measurement details for financial settlement
  • Experience managing Foremen and Linesworkers
  • Full UK Drivers Licence and willingness to travel and stay away
