Where will you be working? At M Group Energy, we’re enabling the energy essential to support our lives. We provide an end-to-end service, delivering solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering and home decarbonisation. This role will be within our Transmission & Renewables team. We design, build and commission substations at voltages up to and including 400kV. Our teams construct and maintain transmission lines and substations, ensuring the efficient and reliable delivery of electricity. As part of our team, you’ll be at the forefront of the transition to net zero, working with not just those around you, but across the Group - sharing learnings to deliver essential infrastructure services for life.
What will you be doing? We're looking for a Document Controller to support multiple projects across the National Grid substation portfolio. This is a hybrid role and can be based from either our Nottingham or Birmingham office but will be required to attend our Substation site in Rotherham so a full driving licence is required. As the Document Controller you will be an integral part of the team delivering projects from conceptual design through to commissioning and client handover. We are highly experienced in designing, constructing and commissioning large scale, high voltage connections for our clients, to adoptable National Grid standards, and EHV transmission infrastructure.
- Managing document configuration and change management processes to ensure the integrity of documents and information.
- Maintaining a compliance calendar to track deadlines for document reviews, updates, and approvals.
- Keeping a detailed document control register that accurately reflects the status of various documents and their versions.
- Ability to work under limited supervision and confident to make decisions within the boundaries of the role.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that documentation aligns with operational requirements.
- Assisting in the preparation and distribution of project documentation and general administration tasks.
- Contributing to continuous improvement efforts to enhance document management processes.
- Assisting in the compilation of documents and As Built drawings for Handover files.

- Previous experience as a Document Controller with National Grid system.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills.
- Strong understanding of document configuration, change management processes, and compliance standards.
- Meticulous attention to detail and exceptional organisational skills.
- Proficiency in using document management software and tools.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with different teams and stakeholders.
- Full clean driving licence.
