Where will you be working?

As an organisation, there is little we don’t do and plenty to get involved in. Our Group Support roles are vital in making sure we can help over 11,000 people deliver essential infrastructure seamlessly across water, energy, transport and telecom. This role is in our Plant and Fleet department, which supports teams across our business with their vehicle, plant and specialist equipment needs, offering hire solutions that are commercially effective, reliable, safe and compliant.

Please Note: We are looking for a specialist Plant Fitter, primarily based at our Newton site, who can also provide holiday cover for mobile fitters and travel as required, including working away from home when needed.

What will you be doing?

  • You’ll foster a positive safety culture by encouraging behaviours that protect people and prevent harm. This includes actively participating in Daily Risk Assessments, Audits, Weekly Safety Briefings, and submitting Safety Observation Reports (SORS).
  • You’ll carry out all preventative and essential maintenance with care and to the highest standards, always prioritising safety and following manufacturer instructions.
  • Make sure load testing and 3rd Party inspections in the workshop are completed as an essential part of the maintenance process.
  • You’ll stay on top of testing, ensuring it's completed accurately and on time, every time, in line with the latest PUWER and LOLER regulations.
  • We’d like you to bring fresh ideas to improve plant operations and reduce downtime, contributing to ongoing innovation.
  • You’ll work closely with teams on operational projects across the UK to meet deadlines and ensure maintenance aligns with agreements.

What you’ll bring

  • NVQ Level 3 qualification in Plant Maintenance or equivalent
  • Knowledge of Overhead line Specialist Equipment desirable
  • Full driving licence
  • Willingness to work and travel throughout the UK on a weekly basis including weekends as required
