Where will you be working? At M Group we’re enabling the energy essential to support our lives. We provide an end-to-end service, delivering solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering and home decarbonisation. This role will be within our Procurement team for our Energy division. We design, build and commission substations at voltages up to and including 400kV. Our teams construct and maintain transmission lines and substations, ensuring the efficient and reliable delivery of electricity.

What will you be doing? As a Senior Procurement Manager, you will be a trusted strategic leader, reporting directly to the Head of Procurement and working collaboratively with group procurement and divisional stakeholders. This is an influential position at the centre of our organisation's procurement transformation. You will lead and develop a procurement team, define and execute complex, multi-category procurement strategies and efficiency programmes and drive procurement maturity across the division. With a continuous improvement and sustainability mindset, you will deliver compliant, cost-effective outcomes while supporting the wider transformation programme.

This is a hybrid role based in one of our regional offices (Birmingham, Nottingham, Stevenage, Newport). Collaborate with divisional stakeholders to define procurement requirements and align procurement activities with business objectives. Influence and work across the business to secure buy-in and achieve procurement objectives. Build and lead supplier relationships, monitor performance and implement corrective actions to ensure continuity of supply and compliance with contractual obligations. Develop and execute category and sourcing strategies aligned with divisional goals and financial targets. Plan and lead high-complexity, multi-stakeholder sourcing programmes across the division. Lead the negotiation of framework agreements with suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and company standards. Oversee the transition from contract award to operational execution ensuring effective project mobilisation, compliance with sourcing strategy and operational SLAs. Identify and mitigate supply, commercial, and regulatory risks. Develop and maintain robust processes, tools, and reporting mechanisms to enhance efficiency, compliance and alignment with our health and safety culture, ESG objectives, regulatory and company standards. Promote best practice and a continuous improvement mindset. Support the Head of Procurement with developing the target operating model. Set goals, objectives and standards and manage team performance and development.

What you'll bring: At least 5-8 years' procurement, sourcing, or supply chain experience, with proven success in managing complex procurement activities. Experience within industries such as major civils, infrastructure, manufacturing or M&E. Strong track record of negotiating high-value contracts and delivering measurable cost savings and commercial value. Practical knowledge of industry-standard contracts (e.g., NEC3/4, FIDIC, JCT). Procurement qualifications such as MCIPS or CIPS. Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to influence at senior and executive levels. Leading and influencing cross-functional teams. Track record of developing procurement strategy, delivering savings, efficiency improvements and managing complex sourcing activities. Implementing supplier performance and risk management frameworks. Strong proficiency in MS Office tools.
