This role will be within our Wastewater capital project delivery team. Our teams deliver large-scale capital programmes aimed at keeping water infrastructure resilient for the long-term while protecting the environment.

M Group Water are proud to be a key partner on the Caledonia Water Alliance and will successfully and safely work with Scottish Water to jointly deliver SR21, a six-year water and wastewater infrastructure pan Scotland capital investment programme.
As Principal Temporary Works Engineer you will oversee a project from initiation to completion, taking full responsibility for all aspects of temporary works (TW) planning. You will ensure that suitable TW solutions are evaluated and associated costs are captured at each stage of the project lifecycle. This includes assessing the price, methodology, and constructability of each option before selecting and presenting it to the Project Team.
You will ensure work is carried out in a productive and timely manner, maintaining a focus on minimising risk in all functions of Safety, Health, Environmental, Quality and Commercial aspects. Have a focus on good customer service and create long-lasting relationships with clients to encourage profitable repeat business to meet the MGW corporate objectives.
Additionally, you will conduct Category 1 and 2 checks and obtain Category 3 checks, where required, on the TW for all contracts, as well as their subcontractors' sites. You will also support the development of Category 0 Standard Solutions in collaboration with the TW and Design teams across the Water Division. This role ensures robust governance, compliance, and delivery of temporary works across the Water Division, aligning with BS5975:2024 and CDM Regulations. Responsibilities include reviewing procedures, supporting design and estimating activities, and developing safe, cost-effective temporary works solutions for complex projects. The role oversees design verification, structural analysis, inspections, and certification processes, ensuring quality and safety standards are met. It contributes to buildability reviews, project delivery plans, and regulatory applications while managing audits and permits. Providing technical support and fostering strong stakeholder relationships, the role drives best practice, consistency, and continuous improvement across all temporary works activities.
Active member of the Design and Operation teams in driving the project forward while embracing innovation and alternate working methods. Visible Health & Safety leadership. Seeks and participates in personal development opportunities with the professional development of an accredited body. Educated to BSc, BEng level. Experience of using AutoCAD 2D Software. Knowledge and understanding of CDM 2015. Awareness of Process Safety. Full UK Driving License.
