We are looking for an experienced and influential Head of Quality to lead our organisation-wide Quality Strategy and strengthen our integrated Quality Management System. This role is key to our transition into a mature corporate operating model and will ensure consistent governance, assurance, and compliance across major projects, infrastructure delivery, and controlled environments. Reporting to the Engineering Director, you will provide leadership across a matrix structure and act as the senior authority on quality for internal teams, clients, and regulators.

You’ll lead the development and delivery of our company-wide Quality Strategy, shaping how quality operates across the business. Taking ownership of the Quality Management System, you’ll ensure processes are clear, controlled, and continuously improved. A key part of your role will be helping the business shift from project-led quality practices to a unified corporate framework. You’ll make sure we meet ISO 9001, ISO 19443, ISO 27001 and relevant regulatory requirements, keeping the organisation audit-ready. Driving the roadmap toward nuclear-grade capability, you’ll strengthen our readiness for highly regulated environments. Independent quality oversight will be central, supporting stage-gate reviews and bringing assurance into major project decisions. Expect to champion continuous improvement by using root-cause analysis, CAPA, and performance insights to enhance delivery. You’ll also support and develop the Quality team, building capability for high-integrity environments.

What you’ll bring

You’ll have senior-level quality leadership experience within engineering, infrastructure, energy, utilities, or nuclear sectors. Experience working across matrix organisations and helping improve governance maturity will be important. Strong knowledge of nuclear or high-integrity frameworks ideally including ISO 19443 will be a real advantage. You’ll bring a solid understanding of ISO 27001 and integrated management systems. A degree in Engineering, Quality or a related discipline, along with ISO 9001 Lead Auditor status, is essential. Additional auditor qualifications or chartered status (CQI, CEng) would help strengthen your profile. You’ll be someone who can influence effectively and support cultural and behavioural change across diverse teams. A structured, analytical approach to problem-solving and improvement will help you succeed in this role.
