This role is based in the BES Rochdale office. BES works with world-leading organisations in the pharmaceutical, biotech, life sciences and healthcare sectors as well as hi-tech industries to create cutting-edge cleanrooms, laboratories and other sophisticated facilities for the discovery, development and manufacturing of life-changing medicines and technologies. An exciting opportunity for an Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer to join our electrical design team. This role is ideally suited to a career-minded, ambitious individual who is looking for that unique opportunity to join our growing electrical design team working alongside senior electrical engineers & designers to develop and grow, eventually working on their own projects. The work is predominantly building services based, including occasional process works varying from project to project.

  • LV distribution, small & mechanical power, UPS, earthing, lighting & emergency lighting, access control, CCTV, security, voice & data, fire detection / VESDA / alarm, solar PV, renewables and facilities monitoring.
  • Where project scope includes process elements, works occasionally consist of controls & instrumentation.

All project workflows and collaboration are controlled using Autodesk Forma (previously Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC)). You will create clear scope documents and schedules that support each stage of the project. You will design LV distribution schemes using ElectricalOM and Trimble Pro-Design, and you will develop lighting and emergency lighting layouts with Relux and DIALux. You will produce LV, earthing, and schematic diagrams in AutoCAD, and you will use REVIT to bring together small power, mechanical power, earthing, lighting, access control, CCTV, security, voice and data, fire detection, VESDA, solar PV, renewables, and facilities monitoring layouts. You will help ensure every design is accurate, coordinated, and ready for delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Electrical qualification: Level 4 vocational qualification in electrical engineering.
  • Design experience: Two years in electrical building services design.
  • Driving licence: Full UK licence.
