Where you’ll be working?
We help our clients safeguard the water supply, improve environmental performance and manage demand for future generations. We enhance and extend asset life, ensuring compliance with water quality and environmental standards. We’re problem solvers with over 140 years of combined experience in engineering and infrastructure. This role will be within our water and wastewater capital project delivery team. Our teams deliver large-scale capital programmes aimed at keeping water infrastructure resilient for the long-term while protecting the environment.
What you’ll be doing?
You’ll be joining our Network Operations Team as a Trainee Water Network Operative, working across both London and the Thames Valley on our Thames Water Lot 3 contract. You’ll be providing excellent customer service by carrying out operational tasks, resolving customer issues, and completing network valve activities with minimal disruption to water supplies. You’ll be supporting teams with pressure management maintenance and assisting with the installation of assets for new pressure-managed sites. You’ll be installing zonal meters and district meters, including carrying out exchanges, while also supporting network upgrade schemes as they arise. You’ll be completing high-consequence valve checks on trunk mains and other high-impact network valves to help maintain network resilience. You’ll be responding to reactive requests from network colleagues whenever possible, providing support during urgent or unplanned situations as they occur. Your working pattern for this role will be Sunday to Thursday.
What you’ll bring?
Do you hold a current driving licence? You will need to hold one to be considered for this role. Have you gained experience in a similar role within the water industry? No experience required, all training will be provided.
